American Translators Association (ATA)

ATA is the largest professional association of translators and interpreters in the U.S., with over 9,000 members in over 75 countries. ATA's primary goals include fostering and supporting the professional development of translators and interpreters and promoting the translation and interpreting professions.

The Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) is an international nonprofit association whose member companies specialize in language services, translation services and language technology. GALA member companies worldwide include translation companies, localization service providers, globalization consultants, internationalization specialists, and language technology developers.

Localization Industry Standards Association (LISA)

LISA was founded in 1991 to enable companies and individuals to share experiences and build a community of those involved with the processes needed to adapt products for local markets. By working together through the association, LISA members successfully created a new industry—the localization industry—and have raised the profile of their activities to the point that increasing numbers of corporations are treating product globalization as an area of strategic importance.
