Sajan Sponsors Gilbane Group Case Study on Club Car's Strategy for Multilingual Product Communications
12/02/2008RIVER FALLS, WI- December 3, 2008 - Sajan, the leader in on-demand language translation technology and services, announced today the publication of their case study titled Broadening Product Lifecycle Management: Club Car's Strategy for Multilingual Product Communications. The case study is a joint effort with Ingersoll Rand Club Car, the world's largest provider of golf cars and commercial utility vehicles, The Gilbane Group, and Sajan.
The acceleration of global product design and manufacturing created a parallel increase in the need for multilingual communications for Club Car. By broadening their product lifecycle management strategy to include multilingual product content, Club Car designed a Global Content Value Chain (GCVC) that delivers operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Corporate goals for the GCVC initiative included reducing process complexities, lowering production costs, and speeding time to global markets.
This case study examines the approach that Club Car implemented, what makes it work, and how Sajan contributes to the company's projected savings of $450,000 over a three-year period.
"Club Car distributors, particularly in Latin America, have become more positive in their commitment to Club Car since we increased the availability of multilingual product communications," says Jane Whittington, Manager - Sales Support, Club Car. "They truly appreciate that multilingual Owner's and Maintenance & Service Manuals are delivered faster and with greater quality and consistency worldwide."
"Ingersoll Rand Club Car has a clear strategy for product communications, based on a Global Content Value Chain focused on product content. Their investments in people, process and technology have enabled Club Car to achieve great success with multilingual communications, as well as to ensure their GCVC continues to evolve and mature," notes Karl Kadie, Senior Analyst, Gilbane Group. "In addition, their technical publications team, in conjunction with Sajan, established a seamless connection between authoring and localization/translation that leverages common language assets across all forms of product documentation. Results include faster time to market, greater consistency and quality, and decreased translation costs."
"Collectively, Club Car and Sajan worked on implementing a process that would provide lasting benefits for their international communications. Sajan's ability to work with Club Car on an incremental implementation strategy provides for immediate and continuing positive effects on return on investment and consistent global communications." - Vern Hanzlik, CMO, Sajan.
