Glossary Creation

Sajan's Professional Services also offer Glossary Creation Services.  Effective glossaries can provide a form of ‘preventive maintenance’: if glossaries are extensive, accurate, and applied prior to translation, the translator/editor will be able to spend less time checking obvious issues and more time on subtle issues, improving overall quality of the work.

Sajan can accept existing glossaries in TBX file format or an Excel spreadsheet, which can greatly reduce the time necessary to implement the glossary.  If no glossary currently exists, Sajan can help scope a project  to create the glossary, which often entails a study of existing translation memory (for key terms, phrases, etc.) in order to:

• Create and apply by language pair, by subject area, and by client
• Create preferred translations of common terms which are completely unique to the client
